For clarity, Partner Merchant related data for this sample is shown on a cyan background.

Sort the transactions by the applicable commission rates:

0.7% -> 186.40 + 213.30 + 128.00 = 527.70
3% -> 360.00 + 55.00 + 42.50 = 457.50
5% -> 475.00 = 475.00
10% -> 115.70 + 920.00 = 1035.70
  1. How do I differentiate between Partner Merchant and non-Partner Merchant transactions on the statement?
    A Partner Merchant transaction has four digits preceding its transaction description.
    A Non-Partner Merchant transaction does not have these four digits in its transaction description.Example: From the statement above, there are 3 non-Partner Merchant transactions – Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Telekom Malaysia and Bytes Software.Back to top

  2. What do the four digits preceding the transaction description represent?
    These digits represent the Partner Merchant’s commission rate – for example, 0300 represents 3%, 0500 represents 5% and 1000 represents 10%. Back to top

  3. Is there a different rate for calculating eV generated from eCC spending at non-Partner Merchants and Partner Merchants?
    For non-Partner Merchants, a rate of 0.7% will be used to calculate the eV. For Partner Merchants, the rate will be 60% of the commission shown on the statement e.g. 3%, 5% and 10%. Back to top

  4. Why is the rate for eV calculation only 60% of the commission for spending at Partner Merchants?
    This is because the entire commission is segregated into 3 categories:

    • 20% goes to the Introducer of the Partner Merchant
    • 20% contributes towards the Auction prizes in the eCC Loyalty Program
    • The remaining 60% goes to the cardholder who spends at the Partner Merchant and is used to calculate the cardholder’s eV.

    Back to top

  5. How do I calculate the eV generated from my spending shown on the eCC Statement?
    First, sort the transactions according to the commission rate. Then apply the formula to derive the eV on your spending.

    Formula for non-Partner Merchants:
    Transaction Value x commission rate x 100% card user’s portion ÷ 3.7÷ 60% payout Formula for Partner Merchants:
    Transaction Value x commission rate x 60% card user’s portion ÷ 3.7÷ 60% payout

    Back to top

  6. What is the total eV on my spending assuming I made the transactions shown on the eCC Statement example above?
    Here’s the calculation:

    Sample Computation of Example Statement

    Transaction Value Commission Rate Card User's Portion Card User's Commission Exch. Rate to US$ Profit & Incentive Payout eV on Your Spending Your Total eV (to 1 decimal)
    A B C D = (A x B x C) E F = (D / E / F) G
    527.70 0.7% 100% end bracket   88.3209 3.7 60% 39.784 39.8
    457.50 3.0% 60%
    475.00 5.0% 60%
    1035.70 10.0% 60%

    Back to top

  7. How do I derive the extra eV on my spending on the first RM2,500 or 6 months (whichever comes first)?
    The extra eV is calculated at a rate of 1.4%.

    Formula for extra eV:

    Transaction value entitled for extra eV x Commission rate x 100% card user’s portion ÷ 3.7÷ 60% payout Here’s the calculation (assuming the total RM2,495.90 on the sample eCC Statement above qualifies for the extra eV):

    Computation for Sample Statement

    Transaction Value Commission Rate Card User's Portion Card User's Commission Exch. Rate to US$ Profit & Incentive Payout eV on Your Spending Your Total eV (to 1 decimal)
    A B C D = (A x B x C) E F = (D / E / F) g
    2495.90 1.4% 100% 34.9426 3.7 60% 15.739 15.7

    Therefore, the total eV you have for August will be 39.8 eV + 15.7 eV = 55.5 eV if the spending qualifies for the extra eV on the first RM2,500 or 6 months (whichever comes first). And in September’s eCC Statement, the remaining RM4.10 from the first RM2,500 will derive extra eV on the same formula. Back to top

  8. When will the eV from my eCC spending be posted to my Business Owner Transaction Log?
    The eCC Statement cycle covers transactions posted from the 11th of the present month to the 10th of the next month. The eV from your eCC spending captured on each eCC Statement cycle will be posted to your BO Transaction Log by the 15th of each month. The sample August eCC Statement shown above covers transactions posted from 11th July to 10th August. Therefore, the eV calculated will be posted to your BO Transactions Log by 15th August for profits and incentives calculation for August. Back to top

  9. Will the eV generated from my eCC spending be considered as my personal eV to qualify for profits and incentives?
    The eV generated from your eCC spending is considered your personal eV for the month. If you generate 15 eV from your eCC spending in the August eCC Statement cycle, you qualify for profits and incentives for August. If you generate 12 eV from your eCC spending in the August Statement cycle, you can complete the 15 eV qualification requirement by accumulating 3 eV either from online or offline sales. With 55.5 eV generated from the example shown above (also view sample calculations 1 and 2 in questions 6 and 7), you have fulfilled the personal eV qualification requirement to earn profits and incentives for August. The total profits and incentives you will earn for August will depend on the number of QUs you have. Back to top

  10. Will QUs be awarded on my eCC spending?
    No, QUs will not be awarded for eCC spending. You need to fulfill the QU qualification requirement through either online or offline purchases. Back to top

  11. Will QU be awarded in the same way for online and offline purchases?
    No, online purchases award QU in a different way from offline purchases.

    QUs awarded on online purchases:

    • Each shopper’s first purchase in a month from your eCosway website generates 5 QUs
    • 1 QU is generated for every US$ 10 in a single invoice from your eCosway website. (This is in addition to the 5 QUs if it is a first transaction for the month.)

    QUs awarded on offline purchases:

    • 5 QUs are generated for every RM 50 / S$ 25 in a single invoice on products purchased at Cosway Sales Centres (inclusive of products under N, T, TN, P & S categories but not Redemption category)
    • 5 QUs are generated for every RM100 / S$ 50 in a single invoice on merchant vouchers purchased at Cosway Sales Centres.

    Back to top

  12. Does the eV Reserve condition apply to the eV generated from my eCC spending?
    No, all eV generated from eCC spending will be completely applied for the current month’s profit and incentive calculations. Back to top
